Book Review & Fun Facts

“The Philadelphia’s Lost Waterfront” by Harry KyriaKodis is a fun book to read. It’s like a history text book giving storytelling about what some of the street names used to be called back in the day. It tells you all kinds of things about the waterfront history near Delaware Avenue. And did you know before there was SEPTA for public transportation it was once called PRTC. The PRTC stood for Philadelphia Rapid Transportation Company which was between 1907-1908.

Reading this book will make you want to go back in time. It’s fascinating how this book “The Philadelphia’s Lost Waterfront” takes you on a journey while giving the knowledge on how vibrant Philadelphia used to be near Delaware Avenue. Philadelphia had more of a nightlife back in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s before closing these nightclubs later on. Today, nightlife in Philadelphia has changed a lot.
