This upcoming weekend SEPTA is planning on drastically cutting some of their services especially on many of the bus routes. SEPTA’s first phase of drastic service cuts to their bus routes begins over the weekend on August 24, 2025. At the same time SEPTA is still waiting on whether or not they are going to get more mass transit funding from the PA state in Harrisburg. Throughout the year SEPTA has warned that there would be drastic service cuts that would happen as soon as August 24th of this year. At the same time there have been many rallies happening made by the public hoping that this would not happen. The fact that SEPTA is planning on cutting many of the bus routes starting this weekend is truly amazing because this will affect thousands of regular SEPTA bus riders. With the first round of bus routes being cut starting this weekend it will be a big challenge getting around the city of Philadelphia without many of these bus routes and I find it incredible that they can’t find a solution on how to fully fund mass transit in PA. But, I am going to keep faith that maybe eventually they will find a solution because the PA state knows how important mass transit funding is across the entire state of Pennsylvania.
