SEPTA Bus Fare Increases This Month/Sept. 14th

It is amazing that the SEPTA bus fare will be increasing once again by next week. SEPTA is in the middle of a funding crisis and they recently cut some of their bus routes in some parts of the city of Philadelphia. But, interestingly SEPTA is going to restore those same bus routes by September 14th, 2025. The SEPTA bus fare is going to increase by .40 cents from $2.50 by Sunday next week. I would guess many of the SEPTA riders may have mixed views and even be angered by what is happening with SEPTA especially with the bus fare increasing. Also, SEPTA has been trying to crackdown on SEPTA riders who don’t pay to get on the bus as well in some parts of the city. It’s hard to believe the bus fare is going to be $2.90 in 2025 soon when you think about how much it was when SEPTA was first founded way back in the mid-1960s.
