SEPTA Restores Bus Services And Increases Fares Today

Septa is set to bring back their buses today. It was certainly a challenge for SEPTA bus riders for a few weeks after SEPTA cut bus services in some parts of the city of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, with SEPTA still in the middle of a funding crisis they are going to be raising the bus fare to $2.90 today as they restore services. It is really amazing that SEPTA still can’t get a long-term solution with the PA State Senate as they recently played budget tricks in order for them to get the short-term funding. And as a SEPTA bus rider myself I find it hard to believe that I will be paying almost $3.00 now to go to and from work. Sooner or later I feel the PA State Senate in Harrisburg and the lawmakers of the city of Philadelphia need to continue finding a way to keep SEPTA moving. Public transportation in the city of Philadelphia is important to hundreds of thousands of people daily. They need to find a solution that will be more long-term at some point to keep public transportation moving in Philadelphia, Pa.
