Year In Review 2025: Look At Book Reviews

Earlier in the year I tried doing a book review on “Philadelphia’s Lost Waterfront” by Harry Kyriakodis. I recommend this book for Philly history buffs, waterfront walkers, urbanist, and anyone context for how we rebuild public space today. Philly is still negotiating its relationship with the river-reclaimed piers, new public spaces and a slow reconnection. The lesson isn’t nostalgia, it’s alignment. When we remember the waterfront’s original role, decisions about access, transit, and public space get clearer. Memory is a map; as this book reflects on the true history of the city of Philadelphia by the waterfront.
